The Graduate

Well, my boy has graduated from high school. I can't believe he'll be going off to college in just a few months. The graduation ceremony wasn't as emotional as the band concert. We were able to grab Josh afterward for a few pictures and then he had to go say his good-byes to friends. He came home briefly and then headed to the all-night graduation party at the school.
My aunt, uncle, brother, cousin and a friend of theirs came to the ceremony. We all went out to dinner beforehand. The ceremony lasted a little over an hour. No major speakers other than the top two graduates and the superintendent.
Josh slept most of the day yesterday and then headed out for a group speech party and then hung out with friends. He's getting ready to leave for Austin this morning for the state UIL solo & ensemble meet. He'll be back on Tuesday. Then he'll work for a few days before we head out to Birmingham for Nationals. It's going to be a busy summer!
The appraiser came on Friday but I'm not sure if the house will be approved due to the peeling paint on the exterior. If not, I'm not sure when I'm going to be able to fix the issues. I do plan to paint the exterior, but it was going to be later in the summer once I get through school stuff and nationals. I still have school this week. We have three days of semester testing and then a work day on Thursday. We're supposed to be at graduation on Friday, but I'll be driving to Dallas for one of my classes.
Today after church I'm going to the school to get work done. There just isn't enough time to get through everything. I have to grade a million papers still, look through completed yearbook pages, create semester tests for interp and debate.
Well, I've got to get some laundry done and get ready for church. The house is clean, though. I did get finished with it for the most part. Of course it is never 100% but maybe one of these days I'll get there.

Wow Mom! Great picture! Another milestone. Are you going to be able to have any free time this summer? Maybe we can get together - meet halfway somewhere and have a night out on the town. Not sure which town, but it sounds good.

Hope you are getting time for yourself. I know how much getting the house ready can get overwhelming. I am there.
