I was called to interview at a LOCAL high school. It was my understanding that the job at this high school would be filled internally. So I don’t know if this would be a situation where they have already made their mind up and they just need to make the appearance that they are considering other people or if I really have a shot at it. Of course I’m going to give it my best effort. I’m just surprised that I was called to interview.

I don't think that they would waste your time or their time with a second interview if they weren't interested in you! Good luck!! I hope it happens for you!
Mis-read your post and thought it said you were called for a second interview. Either way I don't think they would take the time to do this if they weren't interested in you. Good luck!
